Quick Post: MSNBC Ed Show. Republicans in Ohio are working to pass a law that would require a photo ID, as opposed to the options voters currently have of choosing from several forms of identification. My question is: Will the Republicans also offer a way of paying for the ID that will cause a hardship on many of the Ohio citizens?
Some believe that this proposed bill is a way the Republican Party is attempting to reduce the potential amount of voters who might be voting for Democrats in 2012. They argue that the bill does not control voter fraud as Republicans claim it will; nor does it address the issue of write in votes, which is more likely to be the source of voter fraud. Republicans were given an opportunity to defend the bill, but offered no real evidence of the fraud from the groups it actually effects– the poor, the elderly and minority voters.
Below are several links to sites that discuss the proposed bill.
