My trip to North Carolina this time ended up being an extended trip because me and Mabel broke down.  ☹… But, because of family support and good people—everything turned out alright. 😉

I’ve only mentioned Mabel a few times in the past, but now I’ll introduce her properly because I’m looking to do more with her and change up the direction of my blogging somewhat.

Mabel is my 1993 black Jeep Cherokee.  She was an auction buy, and we have grown close over the past few years.  I’ve decided, by the help of the Lord (and it will require his help and yours), to make it my primary vehicle.  For mobility, travel and adventure. And, I’ll be documenting our travels on the blog, the broadcast, YouTube and all the other platforms I use for social media.  Yep.  You’ll be hearing more about her.  So, you can imagine that it was a little stressful when we broke down on our way back from Windsor, North Carolina.

I didn’t do that great of a job documenting this particular trip; but I’ll try to do better from here forward. This post here though, is actually a testimony.

Long story short, Mabel’s engine light started ghosting (coming on and going off) when we were down in Windsor, North Carolina, but after talking with a couple of people I thought it would be okay for the trip back.  It wasn’t.  Just before getting to Beckley, West Virginia, Mabel took a break and didn’t start back up.  But God was good.  Even though we sat on the side of the road for about 1 ½, I knew and felt in my heart that everything would be okay. It had to.  The tow truck finally came and gave us a lift to Beckley.  I really didn’t know how it would all work out, but it did.  Everything actually worked out for my good.  Between my son and good people in Beckley, I was back on the road.  I’ll probably go into deeper detail in other posts , but I did want to give a special shout out to Ernie, who said he was only going to charge me $20 to put on the Alternator…but ended up charging me NOTHING!  I tell you again, I really didn’t know how things were going to turn out –but by the grace of God, I found out that there are good people everywhere—white, black and everything in between.  Basic rule of thumb: People help people more than they try to hurt them.  Thank God for friends.  Thank God for family.  God bless you all. And, thank God for favor.  Amen.
