Make 2018 your year of favor! So, I’ve done a little dabble-reading over the past few days on a varied number of topics. I was looking for answers as to why I think 2018 can and should be an exciting year of favor and change.
In everything I still found nothing to compare to the inspiration of the Word. Bottom line is, regardless of how much outside reading I do, I base a lot of my writing and thought-life on the Word and how it agrees with my inner man/spirit. (Now you know the secret ?) And, amongst everything that I’ve read and was encouraged by, Philippians 4:8-9 won the day.
You already know I’m going to quote it, so, hear it is: “…Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you…”
That is why and how I intend to make 2018 my Year of Favor. No, it doesn’t mean that I’ll stick my head in the sand and ignore everything that’s going on; because the Word also says He’ll not have us ignorant and lacking knowledge. Because he has said, “…my people perish for lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6).
It is the opposite. I intend to be knowledgeable about things that are going on around me—primarily so that I’ll know what good things to think on and pray about to counteract the endless negativity that seeks to distract and steal my energy and joy. I encourage you to also do the same. All year, make it a habit to think about all that you are thankful for. Encourage partners, family and friends. Be helpful whenever possible and find ways to supplement your income by putting your skill set to use. That’s what I do. And I’m going to do more of it. (Yep, that was a shameless plug…and I’m going to do it again…and again…and again.) Why? Because if people don’t know what you do or that you are available to do it, then you’ll only prolong reaching your goal(s).
2018 is a year to stand up, be heard and be seen. Expounding on letting your moderation be made know, also let people know about what you have to offer. And if it so happens you find out you can collaborate and work together, then let it be so. If not, so be it. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. It’s time.
