…for some odd reason, I thought the menu said something about a fish sandwich instead of sushi, but it was still good. And that green stuff, lol… (for some reason) I thought was “guacamole”… My bad. -_- Surprise! that “wasabi” was so hot, it made my head itch… inside! lol. …I need to pay closer attention; and get out more.
Oh yeah, check out my other social media platforms too if you get a chance. Cool pics and content.
Spring is starting up and in Ohio, so are the festivals. I’ve been in Columbus for a few weeks now, and I must say it’s been a very nice experience catching up with my son, his wife and grands. Yep, I’m a ‘pop-pop’… og style. 😉
So, with the warmer days showing up every now and then, I was wondering what things went on in the state during the spring. As it turns out, Ohio has several ‘Avant-Garde’, trade and craft shows happening starting in March.
What count’s as healthier eating? I guess any change is good–even small ones. For me, it was a boiled egg and cheese sandwich sometimes instead of a fried egg and cheese sandwich. It was actually surprisingly good. It was fresh and felt lighter on my stomach. So basically I cut up a boiled egg into slices and laid them out on a slice of bread and added a little salt and pepper; covered by a single slice of cheese.
I also heated it slightly to melt the cheese and wow, very good. I’ve also replaced sodas at large with a carbonated flavored water in a can. The cranberry and blackberry flavors are the best I think.
Little changes like this could lead to healthy gains for you over time. You’re putting yourself in a place where you can still enjoy the things you like only in a healthier dose. Enjoy!
…so forget about the donuts you see on the left and the fried egg in the background on the right, don’t let those distract you. Focus on the blue box with the single slice of pizza. Put one in a blue box just like this and tuck it on the left side on the second shelf in the fridge. I say, Let that become the standard all across
America. In these troubled times, we need something of consistency and I say, let it be pizza.
It could possibly save your life late at night when you’re starving and don’t know quite what you want to eat. It’s good hot or cold and can last for days. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack…it doesn’t matter. Pizza is always good. 😉
I was in Columbus, OH visiting over the holidays and ran across a great resource for Military Veterans when I went for a walk in ‘teen-degree weather. It’s called the Military Veterans Resource Center. I was only planning to stop in for a minute to check out what the employment situation was in the local market and to perhaps hand out a few cards to local merchants.
It was absolutely a treasure find of information and the Veterans Services Specialist who assisted me was very helpful and knowledgeable. I think this would be a great resource for veterans in the local area; and other veterans should visit their web site: http://milvetsrc.org . Some of the services they offer and provide are counseling, information about Veteran services, and they operate a food bank. They have several locations in Ohio (Columbus, Chillicothe, Dayton and Hamilton), and although hours of operation may vary between locations, I believe they are open during weekdays. Telephone numbers are listed on the site for each location. You can call before visiting to make sure you can be assisted.
For me it was a great experience. (I think I’d like to get involved with organizations and agencies like this as part of my career change.) I believe any Veteran needing help can probably find it at a center like this –or at the very least be pointed in the right direction.
