The Reason I Talk Junk about Democrats is Because, I Want Them to Do Better

I want Democrats to do so much better than they have done over the past 40 years. From what I’ve seen from the majority of Democrats is the willingness to fight against #Progressives and others who might be to the left of them. But that same energy does not exist in fights with Republicans.

They are more apt to try to prove their conservatism than to show a willingness to vote for progressive legislation for the American people. And then comes the handwringing.

If you learn nothing more, nor do anything else—leave Progressives alone. There is a reason I am no longer a Democrat or Republican. I am not a fan of the two-party modal. It is disturbing to see progressive candidates vilified. I’m also sad to see Progressives and Independents run as Democrats. Please stop. The primaries is technically your time to shine. Even if Republicans and Democrats don’t want to give you oxygen in their rooms, take it! Get online. Use all the social medias. Ask your supporters for a ‘post’ or a ‘re-post’ instead of just going for the cash.

What candidates want and need is traction. A re-blog or a re-post would both encourage the supporter to learn more about the candidate and show support for the candidate. Two years until the next election, use every second wisely.

For the record, some of these people in the Democratic Party lost their race in 2022 because people didn’t know where they stood. A Democratic Republican look-a-like isn’t worth electing for many.

I think Progressives are the Adults in the Room

Yep, I truly believe that Progressives are the adults in the room called, our country, the USA. While modern day Republicans are the bullies and Democrats are timid and scared, Progressives, for the most part play the role of the adults.

Progressives don’t really want to bothered by the bickering but eventually– we have to engage. The Republicans want to keep all the goodies for themselves and their friends and the Democrats want the same, but pretend that what they want is something for “the people”. Real progressives Read More

The Green Party Platform is Still There; and They are Still on Mission

The main elections are over… still got that runoff in Georgia though…  Go Warnock!  I wanted to see what progressives were still out there on mission and on point since the excitement has calmed and the fog has cleared.

To my contentment, many were still out there.  Talking, blogging, writing, and informing people about issues and important topics that need to be addressed.  And there they were, The Green Party Folks, unbothered about election turnouts and; still Read More

There Goes MSNBC et als Seemingly Poo-Pooin’ Progressives… again

There goes MSNBC et als seemingly Poo-Pooin’ Progressives… again.  I’m sure he’s trying to do his job.  But, I’m starting to get real irritated (again) with folks like Steve Kornacki and others who seem to have a problem with giving progressives credit where credit is due.  Always seemingly having something to say about Bernie Sanders or someone from the progressive side whenever they get a win.  “Oh, look at the low turnout“, he says about the win by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.  (Congratulations! …by the way).  Why can’t they just answer the simple question of …”Did she win?”  With the answer being –“Yes, she did”.

Stop mixing News with Opinions without stating what you are doing.

Why can’t he just look at his little board and report the news without all the…extra.  Sigh… We got news for you Steve.  Progressives are a force; and we will be heard–regardless of being inside or outside of the party.  So get used to it.   You guys did that all during the last election.  Downplaying everything and all gains they made and now, you’re trying to do the same thing again.  Change comes when you push for it.  And right now, progressives are starting to push hard.   They are not doing the bitching, and complaining, and the normal nervous hand-wringing Democrats do.

There are new voters and some old voters (like myself) who actually agree with Bernie and other progressives like him  believe things can be done to make things better for the average American.  And yes we also believe that if they can spend money on the military–in which I served and was proud of it; they can also spend money on regular people and infrastructure too.  And social programs, or whatever else we feel like money needs to be spent on better the country.

So, as the elders used to say, if you ain’t got nothing good to say…shut your damn mouth!  😏…   Nah… actually it says… If you don’t have anything good to say, then don’t say anything at all.

Just sit back, Steve… do the math, watch it unfold and let it happen.

Thanks.

I Am Progressive: There are more than just Republicans and Democrats in America

image of I am Progressive I’m A Progressive.  Regarding politics, I’m tired of hearing and watching shows that refer to “Americans” as either being Republican or Democrat.   Update your lexicon.  Stop being lazy and add a few more parties to your political list.  Splurge a little in your reporting and include others.

I don’t care how you do it–be creative.  Just make sure it gets done. Personally, I consider myself as a progressive Independent.  I have opinions on certain issues that don’t fit either party, but I vote for representatives who listen and are sensitive to my issues.  And frankly, there are a lot of folks in office right now, that I’m looking to vote out and see gone.  There are others like me.

There are many Americans who don’t identify with either the Republican or Democratic party and should be included in political conversation.  You might not recognize and identify them now, but you know they are there.  They are the ones that keep effing up your polls and leaving you in disbelief and wonderment.  They are the ones who are calling up legislators and showing up at rallies ‘unexpectedly’.  They really don’t care about platforms or donors, but they do care about how they are treated, and what politicians are doing to serve themselves instead of the people.

They come in all colors and genders and becoming more and more willing to express themselves.  So my word to reporters and commentators is that if you want your voice to remain relevant and your credibility to stay intact, then tell the whole story and not just the one you wish were true.  The people will be heard.  (I feel much better now.)
